Vijayawada: Telugu Desam senior leader Buddha Venkanna has expressed his anguish over not being able to extend any help to his supporters as he was not having any power though the party represented by him was in ruling.
Speaking at the birthday celebrations of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni here on Saturday, Venkanna said he never felt bad though he was denied an MLA ticket to contest in the recently held elections. “Now I am dependent upon other leaders to do favours for my supporters as I remain powerless,” he said.
Venkanna claimed he was the one who stood boldly when YSRC leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Kodali Nani, Perni Nani and Vijayasai Reddy resorted to verbal attacks on TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and abused them.
He said 37 cases were booked against him as he was fought for the party. Venkanna has expressed his anguish over not getting justice even after the TD government was elected to power.
Venkanna, however, said he would contest in the 2029 polls by getting the party ticket and vowed to continue in the party until his last breath.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni has justified the denial of ticket to Venkanna by saying that the Vijayawada West Assembly segment was give to BJP as part of alliance and assured to take the issue to the notice of party leadership.
