Tirupati: Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged two Telugu states to pressurise the Central government to fulfil the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. Speaking to the media after visiting Lord Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala on Sunday, the minister congratulated the newly-formed NDA alliance government in Andhra Pradesh. He wished the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states happiness and prosperity with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.

Prabhakar also mentioned that on behalf of the Telangana government, they had welcomed AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple in Telangana. Addressing past issues, Ponnam noted that Telangana devotees had faced difficulties during their visits to Tirumala. He requested the temple authorities to ensure such situations do not arise in the future.

Furthermore, he appealed for the reinstatement of the previous system where darshan was granted based on recommendation letters from Telangana public representatives. This practice, he argued, should be reintroduced to facilitate smoother visits for pilgrims from Telangana.
