Visakhapatnam: Tribal farmers of Panasalapadu in Rolugunta mandal of Anakapalli district have accused officials of transferring their agricultural lands in survey numbers 8-1, 6-9, and 6-1 to real estate developers without the consent of their rightful owners.

Gemila Chinnabbai of Panasalapadu alleged that former sarpanch of Ratnampet Tamatapu Satyanarayana, who is not an Adivasi, had colluded with other non-tribals and grabbed over 12 acres of agricultural lands of tribal people for real estate purposes.
Chinnabbai explained that 10 members of the Gemila Bheemanu Dora family had held land titles and passbooks for the grabbed lands as of 2022–23. He alleged that during Jagananna Resurvey, YSRC leaders colluded with officials and took titles and passbooks of these lands in the names of former sarpanch Tamatapu Satyanarayana and others.
Following a complaint filed with district collector, former RDO H.K. Jayaram of Narsipatnam inspected the contested tribal lands and classified the land given to non-tribals as disputed.
Chinnabbai said despite this classification, titles and passbooks issued to non-tribals have remained active, causing worries within the tribal family members who are the true owners.
Tribal leaders V.V. Nookaraju and Gammila Gangaraju warned that if titles awarded to non-tribals are not cancelled immediately, they will stage a protest at the district collector's office. CPM district executive member K. Govinda Rao requested district authorities to take swift action in the matter.
