Anantapur: The meeting of the Kadapa Municipal Corporation turned violent after MLA Madhavai Reddy along with some corporators staged a protest on Monday.

They held the protest by standing and slogan shouting, for “not providing a seat on the dais for the local MLA,” who is an ex-officio member of the corporation.
TD MLA Madhavi Reddy blamed the Mayor and civic authorities for not giving due respect to the local MLA though MLAs were respected with chairs on the dais during every meeting.
On Monday, when the KMC meeting started, Mayor Suresh Babu alone was seated on a dais. MLA Madhavi Reddy staged a protest and blamed the mayor, saying he was obstructing the meeting to protect himself from an expose of the large scale of irregularities he committed in the past five years.
The nine YSRC corporators, who recently joined TD, supported MLA Madhavi Reddy when YSRC corporators resisted the MLA from protesting at the dais.
Meanwhile, Mayor Suresh Babu suspended the rebel corporators for causing inconvenience at the meeting. MLA Madhavi Reddy tore the suspension papers and said the Mayor has no authority to suspend the corporators.
The ruckus continued for more than two hours and the Mayor postponed the meeting. This was the second time that the KMC meeting was disrupted in similar situations.
