Tilak replaces Duvvada Srinivas for YSRC in Tekkali

Visakhapatnam: The YSRC high command finally axed MLC Duvvada Srinivas from Tekkali constituency incharge post and replaced him with another senior party leader Perada Tilak.

Sources said the party high command was under pressure as Srinvas was embroiled in family feud following his wife Vani leveling allegations against him for having an alleged relationship with another woman Divvela Madhuri.

The high drama involving Srinivas, Vani and Madhuri began a fortnight ago taking twists and turns besides Vani and her elder daughter launching an indefinite dharna in front of his new house in Tekkali. Vani also tried to break into the house with the help of her relatives but Srinivas forced them out along with his brother.

Both Srinvas and Vani filed cases against each other in Tekkali police station for this incident.

Last year, Vani approached party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and complained against Srinivas about his affair with a woman. Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately removed Srinivas and made Vani incharge. But as the elections came closer, Jagan Mohan Reddy reversed his earlier decision and made Srinivas incharge of the constituency again.

In the 2024 elections, Srinivas lost to TD’s K. Atchannaidu with a margin of 34,000 votes.

Perada Tilak lost to K. Ramamohan Naidu in the 2024 Srikakulam Lok Sabha elections. Tilak also contested Tekkali constituency in 2019 against Atchannaidu but lost.
