Tirumala Laddu Controversy: CM Chandrababu Orders Immediate Report
The Chief Minister reviewed the Tirumala issue with Neerab Kumar Prasad, the Chief Secretary of the AP government, and ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kollu Ravindra, and Kolusu Parthasarathy, along with senior officials
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday held a high-level review at the Secretariat on the TTD quality issues like the use of impure ingredients in laddu preparations in Tirumala. He ordered the TTD EO to urgently submit a detailed report on the ghee adulteration and related aspects.
Naidu said the state government took a serious note of the use of impure ingredients in the preparation of Srivari Laddus. "We took into consideration the concerns of the devotees. Steps will be taken after discussions with the Agama, Vedic and Dharmika Parishads on the preservation of the sanctity of Tirumala," he stressed.
Ministers Anam Ramanaraya Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Anagani Sathyaprasad, Kollu Ravindra and Kolusu Parthasarathy sought stern action against the errant including the company involved in the ghee adulteration. Chief secretary Neerabh Prasad and other senior officials participated in the review.
Meanwhile, Nandyala MP Byreddy Sabari said YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s demeanour did not change even after evidence emerged that the ghee used for laddu preparation was adulterated.
Sabari stated that Hindus regard cows as Goddess. Using beef oil in laddus was sinful.
Sabari said Jagan Reddy had made YV Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, both ‘non-Hindus’, the chairman of TTD. “During the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857, the native army that came to know that the bullets used by the British were contaminated with beef fat started a revolt against the British rulers. This is time to take on Jagan Reddy,” she said.
