 Anantapur: Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh emphasised the government’s commitment to preserving historic monuments, urging the present generation to contribute to safeguarding these sites for future generations. On Sunday, the minister visited the historic Siddavatam Fort in Kadapa district, accompanied by Railway Kodur MLA A. Sridhar and tourism officials.

The minister highlighted that the fort, built in the second century by kings, houses a Lord Shiva Temple, with a mosque added later. Regarding the development of historic sites across the state, Durgesh announced plans for a public-private partnership to develop the Siddavatam fort area, including safari rides, boating, restaurants, and guest houses for tourists. He also mentioned the central government's special package for the development of South Gandikota’s Grand Canyon with a focus on temple tourism, eco-tourism, and wellness tourism.

The minister assured that all historic sites would be regularly maintained and repaired to ensure their protection.
