TTD discriminating Telangana leaders, people at Tirumala: BRS leader Srinivas Goud
Tirupati: Former minister and BRS leader Srinivas Goud made some sensational remarks against the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. He had darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala during the VIP Break Darshan on Thursday.
Later speaking to mediapersons, he levelled serious allegations against the TTD management. He said that the TTD was ignoring the Telangana devotees.
"Tirumala connects both the Telugu states. Every person born in Telangana aspires to have the darshan of Lord Balaji and offer 'talaneelalu' in Tirumala. Before the bifurcation of the state, everything in this regard was perfect. After the division too, both the BRS government and TTD governing body took steps to ensure darshan of the Lord for people of both the states. Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also continued the same practice but now, we are able to sense discrimination against the devotees, political leaders and businessmen from Telangana. This is not a good precedent," he said.
Many of the businessmen in Telangana have their roots in Andhra Pradesh. They are benefiting by doing business in Telangana. If the same feelings continued, Andhra people in Telangana might face trouble in the coming days, he warned.
The former minister urged the TTD to restore all facilities to the Telangana people at Tirumala.
Meanwhile, Telangana leaders and MLAs have been urging the TTD to accept recommendation letters from them too. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TTD chairman BR Naidu are yet to take a decision on the issue.
