Hyderabad: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has denied the rumours that it decided to stop using organic rice for preparing Annaprasadams in Tirumala temple and considering the old practice of replacing it with normal rice.

Responding to news that went viral on social media that the TTD has decided to stop using organic rice for preparing Annaprasadams in Tirumala and considering the old practice to replace it with normal rice, the TTD said the news was far from the truth.

TTD Executive Officer (EO) J Shamala Rao conducted a meeting with priests and temple authorities the other day and discussed Annaprasadams and its importance. Apart from that no other decision has been taken on the preparation or increasing ‘dittam’ of Annaprasadams.

However, some people were creating unnecessary rumors on social media that changes have been made in the preparation of Annaprasadms at Srivari temple. “We request devotees not to believe in such false news being circulated on various social media platforms,” he added.
