Vijayawada:Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has said Evren, a clean energy platform promoted by Brookfield and Axis Energy has committed to invest ₹5 billion in Andhra Pradesh.

The leadership team of Brookfield and Axis met chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and the energy minister and held discussions on investments.

At the meeting, the energy minister said, “The AP government is implementing investor-friendly policies to promote transparency and ease of doing business for investors and the public. The government is committed to providing a favourable environment for investment.”

The minister said the state offered ample opportunities for new ventures, job creation, and sustainable development, particularly in the energy sector. “The state is well-positioned for renewable energy production, with abundant solar and wind energy resources. The government is already taking steps to establish solar parks, rooftop solar systems, and pumped hydro storage projects,” he said.

The minister told the media later that Evren has committed to create 3500mw of solar and 5500mw of wind assets in AP in a phased manner. Of these, projects of 3000mw are already grounded in the state and their commissioning is expected by the end of 2026.

“Evren has investment plans beyond renewables and is exploring additional opportunities in the state across integrated module manufacturing, pumped storage, battery storage, E-mobility/EV and green ammonia space.

Brookfield managing directors Nawal Saini and Murzash Manekshana, along with Evren chairman Ravi Kumar Reddy said these investments would go a long way in contributing to the state's economic growth through job creation and tax contributions.

“This investment plan underscores Evren’s commitment to advancing AP’s energy infrastructure and supporting the global energy transition. We look at Andhra Pradesh as our key destination for clean energy investments,” they said in a statement.
