Vijayawada: Vijayawada commissioner of police S.V. Rajasekhar Babu stated that the police will investigate why the rowdy sheet against YSRC leader P. Goutham Reddy was closed. According to the investigation, Reddy, who is also the former chairman of FiberNet Corporation, allegedly orchestrated a contract murder to seize land worth crores of rupees. The CP explained that 43 cases, including murder, have been filed against Goutham Reddy, and a rowdy sheet had been opened on him in the past. Rajasekhar Babu confirmed that the police would probe the closure of the rowdy sheet and ensure a thorough investigation into all cases involving Reddy.
"There have been complaints that Goutham Reddy cheated using forged documents related to land owned by Umamaheswar Sastry. We are taking action based on Sastry’s complaint. Five people are currently absconding in connection with this case, and special teams have been formed to track them down. Four suspects have been apprehended, and we are collecting technical evidence as part of the ongoing investigation," the Commissioner stated. "We will show no leniency to anyone involved in illegal activities. Rowdies will not be allowed to operate with impunity."
The complainant, Ganduri Umamaheswar Sastry, a resident of Satyaranarayanapuram Temple Street in Vijayawada, had purchased land in Lakshmi Nagar in his mother's name in 2014 and registered it accordingly. Sastry accuses Goutham Reddy of illegally seizing the property through forged documents. The land dispute has been ongoing for the past seven years. Sastry has also filed a complaint alleging that Reddy attempted to have him killed using a hired gang. The police have arrested four individuals in connection with the alleged murder plot, and the investigation is continuing.
