Vijayawada: Students Told to Love Science, Create Inventions

Vijayawada: Samagra Shiksha ASPD Dr K. V. Srinivasulu Reddy advised teachers to take Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Vikram Sarabhai and Kalpana Chawla as role models and prepare students to become future scientists. In ancient India, science was referenced in the Vedas and Puranas, he said.

Srinivasulu Reddy said this while participating in a programme on 'India's progress in space', organised on the occasion of National Astronomy Day (National Space Day) at Vijayawada Dhanekula Engineering College under the auspices of the school education department of Samagra Shiksha in Vijayawada on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said they are working for the development of science through STEM and Atal Tinkering Labs under the auspices of Samagra Shiksha. “Students should take advantage of the laboratories in their schools. They should change their way of living in response to climate change and create innovations to protect humanity from environmental pollution,” he told students.

BHEL's former general manager Dr D. K. R. K. Vara Prasad said there is a possibility of learning about any subject on the Internet. He emphasised that today's generation should be more aware of issues related to space. He added that if teachers teach students with dedication, they will leave a lasting impression on their minds.

Krishna district DEO Tahera Sultana, who was present as a special guest, said every aspect of life is connected with science. She encouraged students to move towards making great discoveries and told them that if they are passionate about science lessons every day, the sky's the limit and they should aspire to become future scientists.
