Vijayawada: Estranged lover attacks girl with blade in Tadepalli

VIJAYAWADA: A man on Sunday attacked his estranged lover with a blade for refusing his proposal to marry him. The woman, 23, who works as a staff nurse at Manipal Hospital, sustained injuries to her neck and hands. Police identified the accused as Kranthi Mouli, a native of Krosuru in Krishna district.

According to Tadepalli police, the woman and the accused were friends and were classmates during their intermediate studies. Kranthi proposed to her to marry him which she rejected.

“On Sunday, the accused who works in Hyderabad, came to Tadepalli to visit the woman to ask her to marry him to which she declined. Enraged, Kranthi took out a blade he carried with him and attacked her neck and hands,” the police said. The accused, who tried to flee after the attack, was caught by passersby and handed over to police.
