Visakhapatnam: Special arrangements, including deployment of 650 additional sanitation workers, have been put in place for immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in the river and coastal areas of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.

Engineers are closely supervising thirteen specific locations. Four supervisors have been appointed to oversee the proceedings.
The 650 additional sanitation workers have been stationed at immersion locations as well.
The designated sites for Vinayaka idol immersion include Bheemili Beach, Mangamaripeta Beach, Gosthani River, Old Bridge, Chillapeta Pond, Jodugullapalem Beach, Sagar Nagar Beach, IT Junction Beach, Yarada, Narava, Pedajalaripet, Naval Canteen Beach Point, Appikonda, and Sharada Ghat.
The GVMC has organised the provision of tents, pandals, mike announcement systems, barricades, electric lighting, generators, chairs, tables, drinking water facilities, and seven cranes to facilitate the immersion process.
The GVMC's chief engineer said these arrangements will ease the process for devotees without requiring them to enter the water.
Furthermore, the GVMC has arranged for the sanitation staff to collect pooja materials, such as leaves and other decorative items brought by devotees in the immersion areas. These materials will be sent to the nearby garbage processing stations.
