Visakhapatnam Public Grievance Program Receives 482 Petitions Across City
Visakhapatnam: A public grievance redressal program was conducted on Monday at Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), the collectorate, and the city police headquarters received a total of 482 petitions were received across all platforms.
At the Police Conference Hall, 75 complaints were lodged, covering a range of issues such as family disputes, land disputes, marital disputes, fraud-related matters, and civil cases.
The GVMC (Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation) received a total of 106 petitions. During the program, the city Mayor highlighted that the complaints were spread across different zones, divided as 2 complaints in the 1st zone, 19 complaints in the 2nd zone, 22 complaints in the 3rd zone, 7 complaints in the 4th zone, 11 complaints in the 5th zone, 9 complaints in the 6th zone, 9 complaints in the 8th zone, and 31 complaints at the GVMC head office. Additionally, the GVMC Administration & Accounts Department received 9 complaints, the Revenue Department received 17 complaints, the Public Health Department received 6 complaints, the Town Planning Department received 51 complaints, the Engineering Department received 19 complaints, and the UCD (Urban Community Development) Department received 4 complaints.
District Collector Harendhira Prasad received 301 petitions from representatives of public and community organizations, addressing various issues. Among these, 113 were related to the Revenue Department, 59 to the GVMC, 17 to the Police Department, and 112 to other departments.
The District Collector, along with Joint Collector K. Mayur Ashok, District Revenue Officer Bhawani Shankar, RDO P. Srilekha, and other senior officials received and reviewed the complaints. The event saw active participation from district-level officers of various departments, ensuring that the grievances were acknowledged and appropriate measures were taken to address them.
