Vizag: Gummadi Sandhyarani announces major infrastructure projects for tribal villages

Visakhapatnam: District In-Charge and State Minister for Tribal, Women, and Child Welfare, Gummadi Sandhya Rani, announced that roads will be constructed for every tribal village in the agency area, eliminating the need for "doli" transport. The announcement was made during a tour of Paderu mandal on Monday, where the minister also launched a free gas distribution program in Bangaru metta village.
The minister highlighted several key projects, including the development of the Seeleru road with a budget of Rs 46 crores and the construction of roads in 13,00 villages with an investment of Rs 1800 crore Additional, Rs 15 lakhs have been allocated for the development of the Paderu Vadadi road.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing free gas cylinders under the Deepam 2.0 scheme as a Diwali gift to eligible beneficiaries. She noted that the initiative aims to enhance the dignity of women by offering interest-free loans to members of the Dwarka communities, enabling them to start businesses and achieve economic growth.
The minister also acknowledged the central government’s support for Andhra Pradesh’s development. She praised the Deputy Chief Minister’s efforts in organizing Gram Sabha’s across the state and upgrading high schools to junior in every mandal. She announced that the government has taken steps to increase mess charges, sanction 35 more ambulances for tribal villages and further plans are underway to provide solar power to tribal villages and offer affordable prices for tribal products, including coffee.
District collector A S Dinesh Kumar described the Deepam scheme as a boon for the poor, noting that out of 3 lakhs ration card holders, 2.39 lakhs have gas connections. He announced that free gas registration under Deepam Scheme 2.0 began on October 29 with plans to double the number of Aadhaar centres to streamline the registration process. He also highlighted the need for roads in 1,300 villages, which was brought to the Chief Minister’s attention during a meeting in Visakhapatnam.
During the event, 12 beneficiaries received free gas cylinders under Deepam Scheme 2.0. The minister also initiated the work to fill potholes on the Paderu Vaddadi main road in Sundrupattu village at a cost of Rs 15 lakh.
