KURNOOL: There have been growing incidents of loan app organisers harassing people and those who extort money from individuals by posting their morphed or obscene pictures. Such victims now have a reliable platform to seek support—StopNCII.org.

This website does not collect or store any images. Instead, it generates a unique digital fingerprint or hash of any picture submitted by the victim. This hash is shared with partner organisations. If any matching images are found on their platforms, they are immediately deleted.

This innovative service ensures that victims do not have to worry about the pictures or videos being posted online again.
StopNCII.org is operated by Revenge Porn Helpline, a part of SWGfl, an international charity with a global network across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This charity works relentlessly to protect the interests of individuals from online abuse.

The website's primary goal is to help those being harassed by scammers and fraudsters, who coerce individuals into sending inappropriate images under threats of violence or public embarrassment. In many cases, these threats have led to severe consequences, including suicides, as people struggle to cope with the emotional toll of such abuse. The website provides a free, accessible solution to prevent further victimisation.

To use StopNCII.org, individuals, who have been threatened by loan app organisers or scammers, need to visit the website and upload a picture or video that they previously shared with the perpetrators. The website will generate a digital fingerprint, or hash, of the content. The hash will be sent to StopNCII.org's partners, which include major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Pornhub and OnlyFans, among others.
These platforms will search for matching hashes and remove any violating content that breaches their intimate image abuse policies.

Victims receive a case number and PIN, which can be used to track the progress of their case. The website continues to scan partner platforms for any further violations of the victims’ privacy. This service is particularly useful for people who are concerned about the possibility of their images resurfacing online without their consent.
Senior police officials in Prakasam district have endorsed this service, calling it a vital tool in helping victims to protect themselves from ongoing threats. "It is a website that is currently serving various nationals, providing a basic layer of protection against the posting of obscene or morphed pictures. We suggest this service for anyone facing such threats," said a senior police official.
