West Godavari: 3.64 lakh metric tonnes of paddy purchased

Kakinada:West Godavari District Joint Collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy announced that 3.64 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased from farmers during the Kharif season, achieving 88 percent of the target. Payments will be directly credited to farmers' accounts.

The Joint Collector directed officials to ensure the supply of quality gunny bags to farmers and warned against negligence, particularly from Village Revenue Officers, in the paddy procurement process. He also emphasised the responsibility of custodian officers to manage issues related to paddy procurement, including imports and exports.
