West Godavari collector receives GI certificate for Narsapuram lace craft

Kakinada: West Godavari district collector Chadalavada Nagarani received the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag certificate for the traditional crochet lace craft of Narsapuram, Andhra Pradesh, from Union Minister for Textiles Giri Raj Singh in New Delhi on Monday. She credited the skilled efforts of Narsapuram's lace artisans for securing the GI certification from the Central Government. A workshop held in New Delhi displayed various handicraft products, which Nagarani noted would provide a boost to local artisans. She expressed pride in the achievement, celebrating the recognition of their hard work and encouraging the artisans to continue producing exceptional craftsmanship.
