Visakhapatnam: Senior leaders of the YSRCP party filed a formal complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police on Saturday. The complaint addresses the recent arrests of social media activists and alleges targeted harassment against party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In their letter, the YSRC leaders highlighted that social media activists affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are persistently spreading abusive and defamatory content aimed at Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, his family, and other party leaders. The letter stated that this campaign of false propaganda is being conducted across various social media platforms, causing significant harm to their reputations.
The complaint alleges that TD-affiliated activists crossed the line from fair political criticism to character assassination, spreading baseless allegations and inciting public unrest. The YSRCP leaders expressed concern that despite multiple complaints, police officials has failed to take appropriate action against these individuals.
After filing complaint, Gudivada Amarnath while addressing media criticized the current administration's handling of law and order, particularly in light of the recent arrests of social media workers. "The police are not even providing receipt acknowledgments for our complaints, and there are instances of harassment," he stated, questioning the selective enforcement of laws.
