Chenchu Woman Attacked for Skipping Work in Field
Hyderabad: A tribal woman was attacked by three people after she failed to turn up for work in their fields at Mola Chintalapally village of Kollapur in Nagarkurnool.
Eswaramma, a Chenchu woman, was attacked by Venkatesh and two others for not coming to work. According to reports, Eswaramma and her husband Edanna took agricultural land on rent from Venkatesh and both of them work as farm labourers.
Eswaramma, after a fight with her husband, went to her mother’s place in Chukkapalli. When Venkatesh learnt about it, he brought her to their village and locked her in the house. Venkatesh along with his wife Shivamma and Lingaswamy, husband of the victim's cousin, attacked Eswaramma.
After the issue came to light on Wednesday night, Kollapur police rescued Eshwaramma and admitted her in the government general hospital, Nagarkurnool. They registered a case and launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, excise minister Jupalli Krishna Rao said that he would support the victim. He called the SP and directed him to severely punish the accused.
