Couple tortures minor domestic help in Chennai.

Police in Chennai have arrested a couple accused of torturing their minor domestic help, who was discovered dead in their apartment. The suspects, identified as Mohammed Nishad, a used car dealer, and his wife Nasiya, reside in the Metha Nagar area of Chennai. They had employed a 16-year-old girl from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, as domestic help after her mother reached out to Nasiya for assistance.

On October 31, the couple reportedly found the girl deceased in their bathroom. Instead of reporting the incident, they locked the bathroom door and lit incense sticks to conceal the smell before leaving for a relative’s house. Nishad eventually informed the Amanjikarai Police about the girl's death on November 1, but only through his lawyer. Upon receiving the report, a police team was dispatched to their residence, where they discovered the body and sent it to Kilpauk Medical College for a postmortem examination.
Investigation Uncovers Disturbing Evidence
Authorities noted that the girl's body bore burn marks, including injuries consistent with being burned by cigarette butts. This alarming discovery prompted police to summon the couple for questioning. Early investigations indicated that the couple, along with a friend named Lokesh, had allegedly subjected the girl to severe torture on the day she was found dead.
Legal Actions and Ongoing Investigations
Both Nishad and Nasiya have been arrested, while efforts to locate Lokesh are underway. Police have indicated that they are awaiting the postmortem report, which will help determine the cause of death and whether sexual assault occurred. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the allegations against the couple and their accomplice.
