Hyderabad: Justice Pulla Karthik of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the state government to respond to the petition challenging the GO issued to discontinue the services of all tenure government law officers, including government pleaders, additional government pleaders, assistant government pleaders and special government pleaders, who are serving in various courts at the district and junior level courts in the state.

Secretary of the law department had on June 26 issued a GO regarding discontinuation of 55 law officers, who were appointed by the BRS government. Challenging the orders, 21 law officers, whose services were discontinued, approached the High Court seeking directions to the government to continue their service till the end of their term.

The court issued notices to the secretary of law department and adjourned the matter to July 8 for further hearing.
