Udupi: Udupi Town Police have apprehended three individuals related to the gang-war incident that took place in Kunjibettu on the night of May 18. A video of the assault has since gone viral on social media.

An FIR was registered on May 20 based on the initial information. "Additional sections will be added based on the video footage. Two accused, Ashiq and Rakib, both associated with the Garuda Gang, have been arrested, while the remaining suspects are absconding. Two cars, two bikes, a talwar, and a dagger have been seized," Udupi Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K told reporters.

Tracking those involved in the incident, the police have secured Saqlain, the third suspect. The search for the remaining individuals involved is continuing.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the gang is currently not very active. The conflict appears to stem from internal disputes, with one faction accusing the other of jealousy and blaming them for the gang's decline.

The viral video footage shows members of the gang arriving in two cars and engaging in a violent confrontation, including a car being used to knock down an individual.

An FIR has been lodged at the Udupi Town Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
