Hyderabad: 24 Persons Caught Consuming Drugs in Surprise Raid at Cave Pub

Hyderabad: Twenty four persons were found to have taken drugs at The Cave Pub when in a joint operation officials from the Madhapur special operations team, Shamshabad police, Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau and the excise department personnel mounted a surprise raid after getting a tip-off on Saturday night.

Tests were conducted on 55 people present at the venue, with most of them being employees of MNCs, while the others were students in the 21-26 years age-group.

A DJ operator was high on ganja and cocaine, while two others had consumed both ganja and methamphetamine, said police officials on Sunday.

According to the Madhapur SOT DCP, "The pub owners organised a psychedelic party which mainly targets those into drugs. Four are absconding,” he said and added that 24 mobile phones were seized and handed over to Raidurgam police.

According to sources, the drugs were brought from outside and consumed in the pub. The event was promoted on social media, leading to a large gathering.

Following the investigation, the pub will reportedly be closed. More details will come out when the pub owners are taken into custody, sources said.
