Hyderabad: The ACB arrested Chamakuri Sudhakar, inspector of the economic offences wing at the Central Crime Station (CCS) for accepting a bribe of Rs.3 lakh from one Mani Ranga Swamy for the disposal of a case registered against him. This was part of a Rs.15 lakh bribe demand, the ACB said.
Sudhakar had already received the first instalment of Rs.5 lakh. Swamy lodged a complaint with the ACB, which supplied him with chemically-marked currency notes to pay the inspector. After Sudhakar accepted the cash, the ACB recovered the amount from his shoulder bag. The currency notes tested positive for the chemical.
