Hyderabad: Man Dies as Almirah Falls in Newly-Constructed Home
Hyderabad: A man died when an almirah fell on him at a newly-constructed house at Sai Babanagar Colony on Sunday, Hayathnagar police said. The victim was identified as Yella Swami, 50, of Abdullapurmet.
Hayathnagar circle inspector G, Ramakrishna said that Swami was cleaning the house when the almirah fell on him at about 4.35 pm. He sustained head injuries and died on the spot. His wife lodged a complaint with the police.
Two Injured as High-Speed Car Crashes into Divider on Banjara Hills Road
Hyderabad: Two passengers in a high-end car were injured when it crashed at high speed into a road divider on the road to Banjara Hills from Khairatabad early on Sunday. Two other occupants of the car were safe.
Police said the driver lost control of the car on the gradient towards Banjara Hills and rammed into the road divider. Passersby took the injured passengers to a nearby hospital. Police said they were investigating the case.
Police Recover Body of Boy Drowned by Mother in Tragic Shamirpet Lake Incident
Hyderabad: Police retrieved the body of a boy, who was drowned along with his sister by their mother, who later died by suicide, in Shamirpet lake on Sunday. Shamirpet sub-inspector Suryanarayana said, “The woman, hailing from Mulugu in Siddipet, used to be beaten by her husband.” It was suspected that the girl was seriously ill. He said the matter was under investigation. The woman was identified as Bhanupriya, 28, and her daughter was aged three years and her son five.
