Karimnagar: SIKASA Member Held for Spreading Maoist Ideology

Karimnagar: Ramagundam police apprehended the founder member of Singareni Karmika Samakhya (SIKASA), a militant trade union and leftwing organisation of Communist Party of India (Maoist) which used to be active in the Singareni coal fields, and seized some documents of the Maoist organisation, wall posters and pamphlets along with a mobile phone from his possession at R.K-1 coal mine road in Mandamarri on Monday.

The arrested Maoist was identified as Mohammad Hussain, alias Sudhakar alias Ramakanth, 73, a resident of Jammikunta mandal in Karimnagar district.

Srinivas, kept a strict vigil in Mandamarri and Ramakrishnapur regions and arrested Mohammad Hussain.

Hussain, who used to work as General Mazdoor in the Singareni from 1978 to 1981, was attracted to Maoist ideology and joined its leftwing group and worked for the party in different positions. He is also a founder member of SIKASA.

As many as 28 criminal cases were registered against him and was jailed several times. After being released from jail, he was introduced to the top Maoist leaders like Bandi Prakash alias Prabath and had been working for the revival of SIKASA since 2020.

Police registered a case under UAPA against Hussain.
