Ballari: Security measures have been ramped up around Ballari Central Prison in preparation for the potential release of actor Darshan, who was recently granted a six-week interim bail for medical treatment. Authorities are expecting an influx of fans to the prison, eager for a glimpse of the actor upon his release.
Darshan may be released as early as Wednesday evening if the High Court order arrives at the prison by 6:30 p.m. However, if the required documentation arrives after that, the release will occur on Thursday, according to prison officials.
The actor is currently held at Ballari Central Prison following his transfer from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara prison in August. The transfer followed a controversy ignited by viral footage showing Darshan drinking coffee, smoking, and making a video call from prison. The incident led authorities to discipline those involved and relocate Darshan to Ballari.
Fans of the actor are expected to gather in large numbers, prompting police to set up barricades and deploy additional security around the prison. Sources close to Darshan report that he expressed joy upon learning of his bail. Family members and close friends are expected to escort him upon his release.
