Ballari Protest: Vijayendra Assures Farmers No Land Will Be Lost to Waqf
Ballari: Leading a protest in Ballari, BJP state president BY Vijayendra assured farmers that his party will not allow even an inch of their land to be declared as Waqf property.
The BJP staged a state-level protest on Monday against the government’s notice declaring certain farmers' lands as Waqf property.
Vijayendra characterized the Congress government as anti-farmer, likening it to the Razakars of the Nizam's rule.
“Is there a government in the state? The Razakars were looting the poor and farmers. The current government, led by Siddaramaiah, is committing fraud by attempting to declare 15,000 acres of farmers' land as Waqf property,” he stated.
Amid the protest, Vijayendra clarified to the media that the BJP's protest was not aimed at the upcoming by-elections.
“I want to tell the media that this protest is not for electoral gain. We have always stood with the farmers,” he emphasized.
The BJP president also took a jab at Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan. “Zameer, an anti-farmer minister, is visiting districts and threatening officials. As a result, land belonging to the Virakta Mutt in Vijayapura is being claimed as Waqf property, along with land owned by Dalits in Koppal district. Similarly, in Kalaburagi, 1.34 acres of land belonging to Sri Bireshwara Temple is also under threat,” he said while giving examples.
Vijayendra criticized Siddaramaiah for acting hastily and claimed he pretended to be a champion of AHINDA.
“I want to warn Siddaramaiah that God sees everything. You have already made 99 mistakes; once the 100th is committed, no one can stop the end of the Congress government. I challenge him to retrieve the Waqf land encroached upon by the leaders around him. If the government continues to seize land belonging to farmers, temples, and mutts, the BJP will not remain silent,” he added.
He mentioned the formation of legal teams formed by the party in all districts.
“If anyone finds their land being illegally claimed as Waqf property, they can approach these teams. Our position is clear: for any reason, we will not allow even an inch of farmers' land to be designated as Waqf property. We have always supported the farmers,” he asserted.
Vijayendra urged the Congress government to cease its appeasement policies.
