HUBBALI: Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is preparing to parade MLAs in Delhi to distract from the MUDA scam.

"Let him conduct whatever parade he wishes in Delhi; that’s his prerogative. Meanwhile, the legal battle over the MUDA scandal has already begun," Bommai told reporters in Hubballi on Saturday.

He emphasized that the MUDA scandal has now entered the legal domain and must be resolved through the judicial system.

"We will monitor the developments and see the High Court’s decision. Based on that, we will determine our next steps," Bommai said. He also accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of using political tactics to maintain his position.

Addressing the government's criticism of the Governor sending back some bills for clarification, Bommai clarified that the Governor has not opposed any bills or acted with any premeditated intent.

"The Governor has raised questions about the bills and sought explanations where they seemed contrary to public interest. He has the authority to withhold bills that are not in the public’s favor and can also forward them to the President. This is an issue between the Governor and the government," he stated.

Bommai criticized Congress leaders for their handling of land allotment to Jindal, accusing them of double standards.

"The decision to allocate land to Jindal faced opposition even within the Cabinet and publicly. When we were in power, we reconsidered this decision due to the opposition. Now, the same Congress leaders who opposed it are in favor of it. Their stance changes based on whether they are in power or opposition," he added.
