BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday expressed displeasure over Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot seeking replies from the State Government over trivial issues such as not inserting signatures.

Talking to reporters in Bengaluru after the launch of 65- ambulances at a function in Vidhana Soudha, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said “There is nothing wrong in signing signatures in Kannada for files that are in Kannada and letters in English are signed in English.” Siddaramaiah said, the Governor has taken objection to letters/files not signed in Kannada and observed the Governor has been focusing on trivial issues.

Asked over the Governor's letter to the State Government seeking reply over Arkavathy layout issue, the Chief Minister said he will reply to the Governor after going through the letter from the Governor and stated Bharatiya Janata Party MLC and former minister C.T. Ravi was silent for four years when he was a Minister and now he has written to the Governor to make public the report submitted by Kempanna over Arkavathy layout irregularities. He questioned Ravi “Why did not raise the issue on the floor of the Assembly?”

Later, he chaired a meeting on the development works in Sangolli Rayanna Kshetra Development Authority in Bailhongal taluk of Belagavi district and at the meeting, Chief Minister said Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School works are nearing completion except for some civil works. The civil works are expected to be completed by month end.

The Sainik School will give 67 percent admissions for Kannadigas and remaining 33 percent admission to outside Karnataka students. A proposal in this regard has been sent to the Union Minister of Defense.

He directed Minister of Kannada and Culture and Backward Class Development Shivaraj Tangadagi to prepare a blueprint for conservation of monuments related to martyred freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna and assured to scrutinize the blueprint during the ensuing winter session of Assembly to be held in Belagavi in December.
