BELAGAVI: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused the BJP and JD(S) of fabricating allegations to undermine his reputation.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Sangolli Rayanna statue in Kallolli village, Siddaramaiah denounced the claims made by these parties, asserting that they are trying to invent faults that have never existed throughout his 40-year political career.

“After serving as a minister for four decades, it is ludicrous for them to accuse me of mistakes I have never committed. Their attempts to frame me through conspiracy will not succeed. We must unite to counter this. As long as I have the support of 7 crore people, they cannot remove me from office,” Siddaramaiah challenged the accusations.

The Chief Minister further criticized the BJP and JD(S) for their alleged inability to accept that someone from a backward community has held the Chief Minister’s position twice.

He alleged that their frustration has led them to their effort to destabilize the Congress government. “We must not give them a chance. As long as our Congress government is in power, the guarantee programs for the poor and middle class will continue, and our support for the underprivileged will remain steadfast," he said.

Earlier speaking at an event in Koujalagi, where he inaugurated the Sangolli Rayanna statue and the Rayanna Fort, Siddaramaiah issued a clear warning to the BJP, stating that as long as he has the support of the people, it will not be possible to remove him from office.

During his speech, Siddaramaiah highlighted the historic valor of Sangolli Rayanna, a key ally of Queen Channamma, who played a significant role in resisting British forces.

"Despite suffering defeat in a subsequent battle, Rayanna's guerrilla tactics continued to frustrate the British. However, he was ultimately betrayed by his own people, leading to his capture by the British. We have traitors among us. The BJP is continuously conspiring to remove me from office. However, as long as I have the blessings of the people, their efforts will not succeed,” Siddaramaiah declared.
