Congress Calls for SIT Probe into Munirathna's Alleged Biological Warfare
BENGALURU: The arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and former minister Munirathna is accused of transmission of HIV/AIDS using HIV/AIDS infected persons through administration of injection against his rivals, alleged Congress leader and former Lok Sabha member D.K. Suresh and he demanded the State Government to constitute a Special Investigation Team to investigate the matter in detail.
Munirathna has been arrested by the police on charge of rape. Besides, he is also charged with intimidation to a contractor demanding a bribe and caste abuse.
“Waging biological war was heard in some foreign countries but never heard (transmission of HIV/AIDS),” he said and suspected it to be a big network and a big conspiracy. “It seems to be a zoological war,” observed the former MP.
“I do not know his (Munirathna) mindset,” he said and wanted “a comprehensive investigation is needed to throw light on who has been used by him (Munirathna) to spread the dreaded disease?” Through the SIT investigation, he said, “Let who are all behind Munirathna come to the fore.”
