Five Arrested in Haveri for Theft of Ballot Boxes

Haveri: Haveri District Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the theft of 27 old iron ballot boxes from the APMC warehouse on Guttal Road.

The theft occurred between November 12 and November 14. Syed Nadimuddin, a revenue officer from the Haveri Tahsildar’s office, lodged a complaint reporting the missing ballot boxes.

Acting swiftly under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar, the police launched an investigation and apprehended five individuals: Santosh, Ganesh, Mutrappa, Krishna, and Mohammed Javed. All the accused are residents of Haveri.

The police have also seized an auto-rickshaw (KA20 C 973) allegedly used in the crime.

The stolen ballot boxes have been recovered.

Deputy Commissioner Vijayamahantesh B. Danammanavar praised the police department for their prompt action and efficient resolution of the case, commending the officers and personnel involved.
