Honnavar Mishap: Two Killed as Truck Overturns, Injured Sent to Manipal
Honnavar: Two people were killed and three sustained injuries when a truck carrying iron toys overturned at the Sulimurki curve on the National Highway near Gerusoppa in Honnavar taluk early Monday morning.
According to police reports, the truck carrying iron swings, which was en route from Sagara to Honnavar, had six occupants. The truck is said to have overturned around 1.30 am, possibly due to the sharp curve at Sulimurki causing the vehicle to lose control.
The iron swings are said to have fallen on those inside due to which two were killed and three injured.
One of the deceased has been identified as Munna Chaudhari from Nalanda in Bihar, while the identity of the second victim is yet to be confirmed.
The injured, identified as Sajjan Kumar, Ganvri, and Pappu Kumar- all from Bihar, were rushed to a hospital in Manipal for treatment.
Honnavar police have registered a case and are investigating further.
