IndiGo Launches Daily Mangaluru-Abu Dhabi Flight

 Mangaluru, Aug 10: A new daily flight, by IndiGo, connecting Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has commenced operations.

The service took off on Aug 9, marking the airline's second international route from Mangaluru, following its Dubai service.

The inaugural flight, 6E 1442, departed at 9.40 pm with 184 passengers on board, under the command of Captain Viqar Yaseen. The launch event at Mangaluru International Airport featured ceremonial activities, including lamp lighting and cake-cutting.

Young Nandika V, the first passenger to check in, was honored with the first boarding pass.

This new route brings the total number of daily flights from Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi to two, with Air India Express operating the other service. Mangaluru International Airport now connects to eight Middle Eastern destinations and six domestic locations.

The maiden IndiGo Abu Dhabi- Mangaluru flight, 6E 1443, received a traditional water cannon salute upon its arrival on August 10.

“The launch of this new flight is a testament to the close working relationship between the airline and the airport operator. It enables the people of the region easy access to the world,” the Airport spokesperson said.
