Irregularities in Covid-19 procurements baseless allegation by Cong: Yediyurappa
Yediyurappa also asserted that he would not be intimidated by the allegations
Sandur: BJP Parliamentary Board member and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has dismissed the probe into the alleged irregularities in COVID-19 procurements as a move by the Congress to target the BJP, claiming the party has no other means of attack.
The Justice D’ Cunha Commission, which investigated alleged irregularities in COVID-19 procurements and management in Karnataka, recommended the prosecution of former CM Yediyurappa and then Health Minister B Sriramulu. The investigation focused on the purchase of three lakh PPE kits from two Chinese firms at inflated prices.
“We carried out all the activities within the legal framework, and there is no need to be concerned,” Yediyurappa told reporters during his campaign in Sandur.
“The Congress is unnecessarily raking up this issue with an agenda, as they have nothing else to attack us on. However, this will not benefit them. I am confident that I have not committed any wrongdoing,” he added, emphasizing that any inquiry would reveal the truth to the public.
Yediyurappa also asserted that he would not be intimidated by the allegations.
“We carried out our work honestly, and now the Congress is trying to revive an issue that has no basis. The Chief Minister should first address the allegations against him,” he said.
