 Belagavi: A case has been filed against Jayesh Poojary, an inmate of Hindalga Jail after he allegedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans on the premises of a court in Belagavi on Wednesday.

Poojary, who was brought to the court in connection with a criminal intimidation case, unexpectedly raised the slogans, causing agitation among bystanders.

People near him reacted by slapping Poojary before police officers intervened and moved him to a safer location, police sources told Deccan Chronicle.

The motive behind his actions remains unclear. It is suspected that he might have done this to attract attention.

Poojary faces multiple charges, including making threatening calls to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and threatening senior IPS officer Alok Kumar.

On Wednesday he was brought to the court premises in connection to the case related to threatening Alok Kumar.
