Kalaburagi Prepares for Kalyana Karnataka Utsav on September 17
KALABURGI: Kalaburagi is gearing up for the Kalyana Karnataka Utsav, set to take place on September 17.
Chairing a preparatory meeting on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum said that the Chief Minister will lead the celebrations at the Kalaburagi Police Parade Ground, where he will hoist the flag and address the gathering. Before this the Chief Minister will lay floral tributes at the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at SVP Circle.
She asked the officials to submit a detailed list of foundation stone-laying, inauguration, and facility distribution events related to the festival.
She instructed officials to organize an exhibition showcasing government schemes, including the five guarantees, and a photo display reflecting the region’s progress and historical context in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the 371J Act. The exhibition will also highlight arts and culture.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, along with his cabinet colleagues and other dignitaries, is expected to attend the event.
To ensure the event’s success, multiple committees have been formed, and officials have been instructed to uphold cleanliness around SVP Circle and the Police Parade Ground, as well as to provide adequate police security.
The DC emphasized the importance of the event, likening its significance to Independence Day, and directed municipal authorities to arrange elaborate lighting at major circles and statues of national leaders in Kalaburagi.
The preparatory meeting was attended by senior officials including Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Dr SD Sharanappa, SP Adduru Srinivasulu, and others.
