Mangaluru: In the wake of the High Court verdict, Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and stated that his "true face" has been revealed.

“The dismissal of the CM’s petition by the High Court in connection to the MUDA scam has revealed the true face of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who had long claimed that his political career was an open book, free from any blemishes. The decision is a major victory for the BJP's ongoing fight against the Congress government's corruption, as well as for the recent Mysuru Chalo Padayatra led by BJP State President BY Vijayendra,” he said.

He stated that Siddaramaiah no longer has the moral authority to continue in office and should immediately resign out of respect for the people of Karnataka and the law.

Chowta also emphasized that the BJP and social activists had consistently accused Siddaramaiah and his Congress supporters of engaging in corruption in the MUDA scam.

“Even the Governor had granted permission for prosecution based on legal advice after receiving complaints about the issue. Siddaramaiah should have resigned then, but instead, he clung to power,” he noted.

Mangalore City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath too has demanded the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down after the Karnataka High Court upheld the Governor's decision to grant prosecution permission in the MUDA scam investigation involving the Chief Minister.

Kamath defined the High Court's verdict as a victory for the truth.

“Siddaramaiah should now resign in light of the ongoing investigation. Despite clear evidence, Siddaramaiah had arrogantly refused to resign, even suggesting that the Governor should step down instead. He had approached the High Court, which has now dismissed his petition,” Kamath said.

He asked Siddaramaiah to stop his defiance and cooperate with the investigation by resigning to maintain the dignity of the Chief Minister's office.

Kamath further stated that if similar court rulings emerge in the coming days regarding other massive corruption cases under the state Congress government, it may lead to the entire cabinet resigning. This would ultimately result in the ousting of the corrupt Congress government from power.
