BIDAR: Forest and Ecology Minister Eshwar B. Khandre has firmly dismissed concerns regarding setbacks to the state's guarantee schemes.

While the Congress party hoped that the popularity of its five guarantee schemes would translate into support during the parliamentary elections, they secured only nine seats. In contrast, the BJP-JD(S) alliance won a combined total of 19 seats, with the BJP taking 17 and JD(S) 2. This outcome has sparked a discussion on the effectiveness of the guarantee schemes in the state.

"There is no setback for the guarantee schemes. They were a key factor in the Congress winning all five seats in the Kalyana Karnataka (Hyderabad Karnataka) region. Many poor and middle-class people have benefited from these schemes," he stated.
"However, in some areas, there seems to be a failure in effectively communicating these guarantees by visiting houses. I personally believe these guarantee schemes should continue," Khandre added.
