KKRDB Unveils Plan to Boost SSLC Results in Kalyana Karnataka Region

 Kalaburagi : Unveiling a comprehensive plan to enhance SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) results in the Kalyana Karnataka (Hyderabad Karnataka) region, the KKRDB has decided to form an expert committee within two months.

At a press conference on Tuesday, KKRDB (Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board) Chairman Dr Ajay Singh detailed the decisions made during the board's first meeting held on Monday.

He said that the committee, comprising educationists, aims to enhance academic performance from Class 8 onwards.

Recognizing the delay in study kit distribution last year, the board has committed to providing them to Class 10 students by August 15 and to Classes 8 and 9 by September 17.

As These measures are expected to provide students with adequate preparation time and resources, ultimately improving their performance in the SSLC exams.

The step has been taken as it is noted that the districts of Kalyana Karnataka region occupy bottom rungs in SSLC results.

Singh said that the Board has committed to providing financial assistance for the construction of mini Vidhana Soudhas in 18 newly announced taluks, in collaboration with the Revenue Department. Each building will receive Rs 15 crore, totaling Rs 270 crore, as part of the macro fund initiative.

Dr. Singh highlighted the state government's allocation of Rs 5,000 crore in the 2024-25 budget for the KKRDB to improve infrastructure and public services in the region. He emphasized the need for MLAs to submit project proposals by July 15 to ensure effective utilization of the funds.

He said that the KKRDB meeting focused on enhancing the human development index by improving infrastructure, education, health, job creation, skill development, and rural roads across the region's 41 taluks.

Special attention is being given to education and health.

The state government has allocated Rs 665 crore for village road construction under the Kalyana Patha scheme, with the KKRDB contributing Rs 335 crore. Additionally, 46 primary health centers are being constructed at a cost of Rs 221 crore. Every PHC would be provided Rs 1.49 crore. The board also approved providing funds for the construction of Kidwai Hospital, Mother and Child Hospital, and Indira Gandhi Children's Hospital in Kalaburagi.

Under the Udyoga Avishkara program, Rs 9 crore was allocated last year for skill training for 25,000 people. This year, the KKRDB is partnering with GTTC-VTU to build new skill centers, investing Rs 120 crore in this initiative.

"During the meeting, it was decided that if there are funds available for constructing government schools, hostels, and other facilities in rural areas but insufficient funds for acquiring land, the board will finance the purchase of up to five acres at the value rate set by the revenue department," Dr Singh added.
