Mangaluru: KPCC working presidents Manjunath Bhandary and Vasanth Kumar have strongly backed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, dismissing demands for his resignation as unfounded and politically motivated.

"The BJP’s demand for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation is foolish. The case against him is politically motivated, and there is no need for him to step down," said MLC and KPCC working president Manjunath Bhandary.

He assured that the Congress party is firmly backing Siddaramaiah.

"We will continue the legal battle, confident that justice will prevail. There is no reason for the Chief Minister to resign," he stated.

Bhandary also took aim at the central government, accusing it of using Governors to destabilize democratically elected governments.

"In states with Congress governments, they are misusing agencies like the ED, IT, and CBI to target Congress leaders. This is a dangerous threat to our constitutional democracy," he added.

Vasanth Kumar, another KPCC working president, echoed similar sentiments, dismissing any question of Siddaramaiah’s resignation.

"There is no question of Siddaramaiah resigning from the CM post. The party stands united behind him," Kumar told Deccan Chronicle.

He further alleged that the BJP is attempting to create obstacles for the Congress government in Karnataka.

"This is a deliberate ploy by the BJP. BJP high command is trying to destabilize opposition-led states through Governors. But the people will not tolerate such autocratic moves and will teach them a lesson in the coming days," Kumar warned.
