Kumaraswamy Alleges CM Aspirant Behind MUDA Plot Expose

Bengaluru: Over the ongoing plot allotment row by Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to the Chief Minister’s wife as compensation for sacrificing her land in Mysuru city, State president of Janata Dal Secular and Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Friday, in an oblique reference to Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, alleged a leader aspiring to become the Chief Minister of Karnataka is behind the exposure of plot allotment to the CM's wife.
The accusation drew reaction from D.K. Shivakumar who termed Kumaraswamy a person of unsound mind who needs treatment at a mental health hospital.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders especially Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly R. Ashok alleged MUDA compensated CM’s wife Parvathi for denotified land and throwing all norms into wind. He demanded the State Government to hand over the MUDA plot allotment to CM’s wife for investigation from the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and also wanted cancellation of site allotments by MUDA.
When sought his reaction on MUDA plot allotment to CM’s wife, Kumarawamy told reporters, after offering prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru, “It has been doing rounds in political circles that a CM aspirant is behind the MUDA plot allotment expose. It has been hatched to make the incumbent Chief Minister (Siddaramaiah) step down from the post.”
“I’m unaware of the allegations since my concentration is fully on national politics,” he said and stated the State Government speaks on transparency in administration and the MUDA plot allotment (to CM’s wife) has been exposed by some in the Government. He wondered “Why the MUDA plot allotment come out now?”
Reacting to Kumaraswamy, D.K. Shivakumar termed Kumaraswamy of being a person of unsound mind and has been making baseless allegations owing to his mental illness.
