Lightning Strike Kills Cattle, Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Vijayapura District
VIJAYAPURA: A lightning strike resulted in the death of cattle and heavy rains caused flooding in several houses in Vijayapura district. Officials reported that cattle belonging to Shivayogi Bhimashya Hosamani of Masali BK village in Indi Taluk were killed by lightning around 12:30 am.
Meanwhile, heavy rains led to flooding in houses near the bus stand in Boragi village, Sindagi Taluk, at 1 am, damaging agricultural products such as wheat and jowar stored in the homes. Officials have inspected the affected areas. Partial damage to houses was also reported in the villages of Baratagi, Hoovinahalli, and Siddhanatha.
In Bagalkot district, rain was recorded in Bagalkot, Hungund, Ilkal, Badami, and Bilagi, disrupting vehicle movement on the Hungund-Karadi road. In Dakshina Kannada district, heavy rains on Monday evening caused flooding in a few shops in Puttur. North Karnataka districts, including Bidar, Kalaburgai, and Yadgiri, also experienced substantial rainfall.
