Mangaluru: The residence of MLC Ivan D'Souza in Valencia, Mangaluru, was targeted by a group of miscreants who pelted stones on August 21 night. No one was injured in the incident.

Ivan D'Souza told Deccan Chronicle that a complaint has already been filed at the jurisdictional police station. He was in Bengaluru when the incident occurred.
"Condemning the incident, I will hold a protest march (Padayatra) from my residence to the BJP office on August 23, with around 3,000 people expected to participate," Ivan said.
He blamed the BJP for the incident.
Police said that according to initial police reports, two individuals on a motorcycle carried out the attack, fleeing the scene immediately afterward. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to identify the suspects, and senior police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), visited the location to assess the situation.
In response to the attack, security around the MLC's residence has been tightened, with a City Armed Reserve (CAR) team deployed for round-the-clock protection of Ivan D'Souza and his family. A non-cognizable (NC) case has been registered at the South Police Station.
City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal confirmed that a special investigation team, led by the ACP Central and PI South, has been formed to expedite the investigation.
The team has been instructed to gather all available evidence, including CCTV footage from nearby shops and establishments, to ensure a swift resolution of the case.
