Mangaluru: The Mangalore City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested two drug peddlers, including a Nigerian national, and seized 200 grams of MDMA worth approximately Rs 10 lakh.

The operation intercepted a major drug trafficking network operating between Bangalore and Mangalore.
The arrests were made based on intelligence gathered from a previous case where the Bajpe police arrested Iqbal, an individual involved in drug sales. The information led the CCB to identify two suspects- Darshan KG (25) from Bengaluru (presently residing in Mysuru) and Chika Joseph Eze (26), a Nigerian national residing in Bengaluru.
Following the arrests, the police seized 200 grams of MDMA, a Maruti Baleno car, five mobile phones, five debit cards from different banks, seven SIM cards, and a digital weighing scale.
The two accused were allegedly involved in the illegal transportation and sale of MDMA in Mangaluru.
Eze, who came to India in May 2023 on a work visa, was earlier involved in a similar drug-related case in Bengaluru's Yelahanka area, where he had been arrested but released on bail about four months ago.
Investigation is on to identify other members of the network.
