Rival Gang Members Clash in Mangaluru Prison, Two Injured

 Mangaluru: Two inmates were injured in Mangaluru Prison after a violent clash took place between rival gang members today.

According to City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, the incident took place between 6.30 pm and 6.45 pm.

Muhammad Sameer, also known as Kadapar Sameer (33), and Muhammad Mansoor, also known as Boliyar Mansoor (30), who have been in judicial custody for the past 20 days in connection with a crime at Ullal Police Station were injured in the incident.

Sameer and Mansoor, both residents of Ullala and Boliyar respectively, were attacked by a group of 10 rival gang members led by Topi Naufal. The attackers used sharp kitchen items to inflict injuries on their heads, shoulders, and other body parts. The injured inmates have been admitted to Wenlock Hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

The entire altercation was captured on CCTV. Based on the complaint by the Jail authorities, a case has been registered at Barke Police Station. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.

The attackers, all of whom are currently in judicial custody for various cases, include Muffad Rifat, Muhammad Rizwan, Ibrahim Kallel, Umar Farooq Irfan, Altaf, Naufal, Jainudeen and others.

The accused and victims are accused in various cases, and are listed as rowdy sheeters. They belong to rival gangs. They are all in judicial custody presently.
