SCCL Ups Age Limit for Jobs from 35 to 40
HYDERABAD: Fulfilling an assurance by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) announced an increase the age limit from 35 to 40 for recruitment under compassionate grounds. The new order will be applicable from March 9, 2018. Around 300 unemployed youth will get immediate benefit as per the new order.
In a statement, SCCL chairman and managing director N. Balram said hundreds of unemployed youth lost opportunities for over a decade after the previous BRS government reduced the age limit under the category.
Balram said many unemployed youth have applied with fabricated certificates to get jobs under the compassionate grounds. They were caught and booked by vigilance and lost all the benefits. The increased age limit will desist youth from taking such unlawful decisions, he said.
Besides the children and heir of deceased employees, employees of the company, found unit to work on the health grounds by the medical board, can avail this benefit, he said.
Balram said many employees lost opportunity as the medical board had not operated during Covid-2019 period for about two years. Trade unions and local people’s representatives have made repeated appeals to the company to increase the age from 35 to 40.
He pointed out that those who availed single time financial benefit are not eligible to apply as per the new age limit. The scheme is applicable to those, who have not taken any financial settlement and are eligible as per new age limit dates fixed by the company, he said.
Workers and employees associations have welcomed the decision and thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy .
